I was very skeptical that a mattress topper could actually be firm! All of the mattress toppers we have purchased in the past were to make the bed softer. However, this topper is FIRM! we recently bought a new mattress, one that my husband likes, but it's too soft for me. So I did an internet search for a firm mattress topper. And I'm very pleased. Highly recommend, and it solved the dilemma of meeting the needs of two people.
